A Tradition of LPL and Marigold Bowl - and a Fond, Sad Farewell

"OUR LONG-TIME THURSDAY HOME"

logoWe just wanted to let all of you know that Marigold Bowl has been sold. They will close their doors on May 28th, 2004. This is the end of a long tradition of bowling for LPL (we had the first gay league!) and Marigold as well. For those bowlers and Thursday socialites that come out to visit, it seems a bit sad for LPL because we did have the first gay league almost 30 years ago, and we have been "stationed" at Marigold for many of those years (at least the past 20 years or so) according to bowling secretary Felix Quintiliani. We will keep you informed about the future of LPL bowling, as Felix has been in contact with the other gay leagues and we are looking into other options for next season.

So, we would like to take this time to ask each of you to help make this Candlelight Bowl one of the best LPL events, EVER! Please let your friends know about this recent change in our community; encourage everyone you think might be interested to take advantage of this moment in history for our community and neighborhood as well. The details of our final big event at Marigold are below; please bring a 'gang' with you to the Candlelight Bowl on March 27th, 8:30 PM.

Sincerely,
The Bowling Committee & the LPL Board of Directors
