Here is a snapshot of what's going on in the LPL world as we head toward summer...

Saturday, May 9, 2009 - Group outing to see GODSPELL - 8pm at Triton College

Please join LPL for an informal gathering to see the fun and energetic rock musical Godspell staring our very own, talented Greg Williams . There are several of us going that night and it will be great to enjoy the show together.

Here are the details.
    * Everyone is responsible for reserving and purchasing their own tickets via the box office at 708-456-0300 ex 6932.
    * Tickets are $15, general admission
    * Triton College is in River Grove (2000 Fifth Ave) and the Performing Arts Center is located at the east side of campus.
    * A few of us will try to hold extra seats so we can try to sit together so arrive a little early (like 7:40pm) and look for Jackie (or another LPLer loitering in the lobby)

If you can't join us on the 9th you may still feel fee to see the show on another date in early May -- there are just 7 shows:

    * May 1, 2, 7, 8, 9 @ 8pm
    * May 3, 10 @ 2pm

Annual Meeting Recap

It was great to see and socialize with everyone who came to the Annual Meeting last week; Thank you to all who participated and voted in the election.  Following are the nine members who will be serving the next one-year term on the board of directors...  Bruce Catt, Pauli Cook, Bert Glidewell, Tripp Kelley, Damian Moshak, Jackie Mrozinski, Tony Myers, Felix Quintiliani, Bill Stalker.

Chairman Bert Glidewell extended special thank you's to all who helped to make such a great year possible, and helped to implement such a large number and large variety of events.  It could not have been done with out everyone's input!  Thank you!

Event Calendar Updates...

Although the LPL event calendar is in ever-evolving thing -- always adding new additional events as the year progresses -- we thought we would highlight a couple of items in particular to make a note of for the 2009 year.

• The Maywood Park Racetrack event is going to be rescheduled for another date sometime into the warmer weather.  We will let you know - it will be a great gay day at the racetrack!
• The "All-Groups Picnic" is returning to Chicagoland!  This popular event, which for many years was organized by NSG, came to an end two years ago when the host group itself came to an end.  This spring, however, WSGA announced that it will take over and resume the popular summer picnic that takes place in Busse Woods.  LPL will once again be a participant and have added the event to our calendar on August 30.  Reminders will be sent out as the date approaches.

One a final note (related to the events calendar)...

The Wisconsin Camping (Rafting Trip) Committee will be starting to organize this year's event soon.  We strongly encourage any eager campers who are interrested to be a part of the planning committee for this year's event.  (You can contribute your thoughts and efforts by email or in person)  Send and email to Tony for more info: atmmyers@yahoo.com (and include "Rafting Committee" in the subject line).
