Felix brought back the following report...Hello everyone.I just wanted you all to know that I went to the open house at Open Hand/Vital Bridges tonight. As it said in the memo I forwarded to you last week the event was to commemorate the 10 th anniversary of Open Hand Groceryland. A special plaque was dedicated to all those who have helped them get to this point. Laurie Cannon (one of the founders of Open Hand) read the names of all the tireless volunteers, organizations and others who were inscribed on the plaque. When Laurie read our name (Lincoln Park Lagooners) she paused for a moment and said: the Lincoln Park Lagooners have been around for about 25 or 30 years officially, however, they have helped our community for probably 35 or 40 years! Even before we knew we had a need, LPL was there to help out! LPL has supported this organization with hard labor and fundraising efforts for as long as I can remember. Well, guys, that was one hell of a tribute coming from Laurie Cannon! I just wanted to share this with you and let you all know how proud you can be of our club. This is what we're all about.not for the glory or the awards or the recognition..but to help others in need. You can see the legacy we have and I hope that we always remember and cherish the charitable efforts of our membership. I can truly say I am proud to be a part of the LPL family and will do everything in my power to support the efforts of our membership to help others in need. May God keep each and every one of you in His care.today and always!
Much love to each of you..
Your ever lovin' "Secretary for Life" ....Felix
