EQUIPMENT TO BRING FOR RAFTING AND CAMPING - NOT SUPPLIED BY LPL

All you really need is a tent, sleeping bag, clothes, and the desire to have fun. We take care of the arrangements, the meals, related equipment, and beverages. (Hard liquor & mixers not included.) See below for lots of additional "suggestions".

Camping equipment to bring includes: INSECT REPELLENT, flashlight, air mattress, a sleeping bag or blankets, tent, ground cover and other necessary personal items. Do not bring any boom boxes. They are forbidden! The chipmunks and raccoons violently object and so do a lot of campers. Bring quarters for the showers, aprox. 2 per use. Don't forget your swimsuit, sunscreen, your weekend wardrobe, and maybe a favorite game or reading material. Although optional, you may wish to bring some party favors, decorations, lighting, gadgets, gags, cards, etc. to make the trip on the river or at the campground more fun and have a few laughs. Decorate your tent and/or campsite and show off your "fabulous" taste, as there will be a contest. Use your imagination. LPL is not supplying any lawn chairs, but you are free to bring your own. Pets are not allowed.

Rafting will begin about 10:00 A.M. Saturday. YOU WILL GET WET, and proper clothes are essential. Items to bring are: swim trunks or cut-offs, tennis or soft rubber soled shoes (SANDALS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED), nylon windbreaker, hat and plenty of SUNSCREEN. Pants that dry fast, a long sleeved shirt (not a sweat shirt as they get very heavy when wet) and a nylon jacket are necessary if the weather is cool. Shotgun Eddy has wet suits to rent if you are interrested. Bring a complete change of dry clothes and shoes to change into after rafting. As you will be on the river for about six hours, you should bring additional beverages or munchies. If you need more, there are two refreshment stands along the river where you can purchase additional snacks and beverages. One is at Sullivan Falls and the other is just before the Dells. You will want to place your munchies, smokes and matches in waterproof containers such as Ziploc bags. All items carried on the river should be securely wrapped in heavy duty plastic garbage bags and tied with rope so they can be secured to your raft. Beverages brought on the river MUST be carried in NON-THROW-AWAY containers such as thermos bottles, canteens or picnic jugs. ABSOLUTELY NO THROW-AWAY PLASTIC CONTAINERS, GLASS, OR CANS will be allowed on the river. UNAPPROVED CONTAINERS WILL BE CONFISCATED AT THE START OF THE TRIP BY EMPLOYEES CHECKING FOR SUCH ITEMS. Eyeglass wearers should bring a strap to secure them, as the water can be rough enough to send you unexpectedly swimming.

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION AND NASTIES

  1. The cost of the trip is for Friday thru Sunday. Rafting is $30 per person. To have an even more enjoyable weekend and experience some of the other activities in the area, you are welcome and encouraged to arrive on Wednesday or Thursday for $30 extra, which includes the campsite, dinner on Thursday, a full breakfast on Friday and beverages.
  2. Transportation and personal camping equipment (ESPECIALLY TENTS) are NOT included.
  3. The Campground and LPL absolutely insist that you DO NOT BRING ANY PETS on this trip! PERIOD!
  4. Please limit loud partying, card or other game playing, etc. to the pavilion in consideration of those wanting to sleep or those campers that do quiet partying. Please do not bring boom boxes as they tend to be annoying and campers complain.
  5. The campground staff will be preparing and serving our meals in the pavilion and take care of the clean up. However, we request that everyone cooperate to keep the campground and other common areas we visit at least as clean as we found them. We may ask for volunteers to help with light tasks as necessary. PLEASE help if you can, it would be greatly appreciated! Sorry, we cannot accommodate special foods, meals or diets, but be aware that there is a wide variety of things available. A convenience store (Shell gas station) is available right across the road to purchase snacks and other last minute items like film, smokes, lighters, batteries, etc.
  6. Schedules are made to be broken, but... we MUST follow the one for Saturday morning. Our rafts are NOT guaranteed if we arrive at Shotgun Eddy's past 9:30 A.M. YOU MUST sign a Shotgun Eddy waiver at the campground breakfast and have your hand stamped to go rafting. This will ease line congestion so we can start without delay. If you miss breakfast, be at Shotgun Eddy no later than 9:30 A.M. to do the same. NO WAIVER and STAMP, NO RAFTING! Please cooperate, you will really appreciate this.
  7. The firewood you will undoubtedly see is for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Please limit your consumption on Thursday and Friday nights so we have enough for Saturday night when we will probably stay up much later and appreciate it more.
  8. LPL is NOT supplying alcoholic beverages for consumption on the river while rafting and does not recommend their use while on, in, or near the water. Also, Fireworks are NOT allowed at the campground. This is a Wisconsin State Law.
  9. The ABSOLUTE REGISTRATION AND FULL PAYMENT DEADLINE IS as posted on the registration form . Reservations are only guaranteed with PAYMENT IN FULL. We regret that we cannot provide refunds for not showing up, coming a day late, missing a meal, not rafting, etc, etc & etc.
  10. You MUST BE at least 21 years old to attend the trip.
